slot the following modules may be used: 2 port serial,
1 port serial, 1 DSU/CSU, 1 ISDN, 1 Ethernet, 1 Token Ring and
Voice
- Additionally, up to six analog voice channels,
with combinations of FXS or E&M can be supported.
- Voice over Frame Relay with call switching
over the network.
- Extensive protocol support includes: SDLC/HDLC,
BiSync, Burroughs Poll Select, and asynchronous protocols
- Standards-based voice compression as low as
5.33k with ITU standards G.711, G.729A, G.723.1, G.726, or G.727
available
- ISDN basic rate interface for National ISDN
(NI-1), Euro-ISDN, and NET3.

- Extensive IBM support, including QLLC, SDLC
spoofing and LLC2 conversion.
- FRF.11 and FRF.12 compliant for F/R sub-channels
and data segmentation.
- Fax and modem relay provided at connection
speeds to 9.6k.
- Express Switching, which transports a mix
of data and voice traffic optimizing bandwidth utilization while
ensuring assigned quality of service criteria.
- Supports Transparent, Source Route and Source
Route Transparent (SRT) bridging for Ethernet or Token Ring
LANs.
- Intelligent IP multicast capability to distribute
or broadcast messages to multiple locations with efficiency
of both bandwidth and time.
